Kyo Bom And Bu Sa Bom Certification Clarification
Dear 2022 Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa Time Eligible Members,
I trust you are doing well.
A few members have reported confusion about the question regarding Instructor Certification on the 2022 KDJSS Time Eligible Questionnaire 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th Dan so it has been modified to eliminate that confusion. A new option has been added for "No Instructor Certification."
A few other members have reported confusion about whether or not they need to have completed an Instructor Certification Study Kit prior to the test.
The TAC's recent changes to the Instructor Certification program retain the existing Instructor Certification Study Kit fees and kit possession time requirements to be eligible for Jo Kyo, Kyo Sa and Sa Bom, but removed the Kyo Bom Study kit fee and are waiving the 12-month time requirement for Kyo Bom and Bu Sa Bom. (at least for this year)
- Members invited to test for 4th Dan who are NOT Kyo Sa Certified and who are promoted will exit the KDJ Shim Sa with the title of Kyo Bom. Candidates without Kyo Sa certification and not in possession of a Sa Bom Certification Study Kit must download and complete the Kyo Bom Certification Study Kit before the Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa. (no fee for Kyo Bom kit download)
- Members invited to test for 4th Dan who are Kyo Sa Certified and who are promoted will exit the KDJ Shim Sa with the title of Bu Sa Bom. Candidates with Kyo Sa certification, but not in possession of a Sa Bom Certification Study Kit must download and complete the Bu Sa Bom Certification Study Kit before the Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa. (no fee for Bu Sa Bom kit download)
